Interviews

Not that I've ever bagged me an A-lister. And not that I'm looking for that to define any semblance of cred. I have come to quite enjoy chatting to people on the way up, on the fringes, or coming down, and finding a story.

Well as much as one can from what are usually sanitised and PR-managed foreplay exercises before they talk to the real press; real people and not fake bloggertypes like I was.

My personal favourite for insight was the talk with Cyrus Shahrad over his track Insurrection and the legacy 30 years on from the Brixton Riots. Ironic that not four months later we witnessed the worst rioting since, in several neighbourhoods in London and beyond.

Martin Trenaman

-  Simon's dad from the InBetweeners and an established comedy actor and writer in his own right.

Zoe Lyons

- Rasping and bemuscled comedian, semi-regular on Mock the Week and staple of the comedy circuit.

Cyrus Shahrad aka DJ Hiatus

- Journalist, DJ, musician, clever bastard and riot enthusiast. We discuss his adopted homeland of Brixton.

A Badge of Friendship

- Music PR power couple who retain a phenomenal array of underground music talent on their books.

Street Magician Dynamo

- 'Magician Impossible' star talks candidly about his initiation to magic as means to stop his bullies.

London Taxidermist Sean Douglas

- Silly PR exercise to launch a film, but an interesting experience seeing the process in action in South London.

Tiffany Stevenson

- So You Think You're Funny runner up talks female comedians and more.

Stan Ng - Apple International Product Chief

- I really shouldn't have got this interview. Right on the eve of some big Apple announcements I made a conveniently placed PR friend who set me up with this guy. I was a bit wet behind the ears so really didn't have the skills to draw this guy on any of hype surrounding the then unconfirmed Apple tablet device. He PR'd me out of the park but interestingly I'm told he since left Apple in less-than-mutual circumstances.
